Welcoming the Are You a Human Braintrust of Bot Defenders to the Distil Family

May 17, 2017 Rami Essaid

Today, we’re happy to announce that we have acquired Are You a Human, experts in analyzing and understanding how real humans interact with the internet. Through this acquisition, we are bringing on a team of experienced software engineers and data scientists who have dedicated the past seven years to understanding the bot problem plaguing online businesses. Combined with our purchase of ScrapeSentry in 2016, we have become a braintrust of individuals with the most advanced knowledge on bots, giving us the ability to combat them more effectively than any other company in the market today.

We’re also adding Are You a Human’s patented biometric data analysis technology to make our own bot detection and mitigation even better. Are You A Human’s biometric interaction dataset will be integrated into the Distil Bot Defense Platform, adding biometric and longitudinal data from millions of new sites and users.

As part of the acquisition, we are launching a brand new plugin for Google Analytics called Distil Bot Discovery based on Are You a Human’s technology. Distil Bot Discovery for Google Analytics will allow any website owner to see bot reporting directly in Google Analytics, for free.
