On the heels of the release of our inaugural 2014 Bad Bot Landscape Report, we here at Distil Networks continue to push forward and have several exciting new developments to share with you:
Funding: We are proud to announce we have just closed a $10 million dollar Series A round of funding led by Foundry Group and Techstars’ Bullet Time Ventures. IDEA Fund Partners, ff Venture Capital and Militello Capital also contributed to the round. Read the full press release here. We’ll use the funding to not only develop new and innovative ways to proactively combat new bot threats, but we’ll also use it to help grow the company. We expect to double our workforce in the next seven months, which leads us to…
New Offices: As our headcount continues to grow, we’re going to need some extra space and so construction will kick off early this summer here in our Arlington VA office. We’re also at a point as a company where we’re ready to establish ourselves as a key player in the tech capital of the world: Silicon Valley. So we’re excited to announce the opening of two new offices: one in Raleigh, North Carolina and the other in San Francisco, California. We feel that being a bi-coastal company will allow us to continue the momentum we have already built, resulting in new investor opportunities and reaching new customers. California, here we come!
Advisors: Behind every great company are great advisors who use their expertise to help shape the company’s future. That being said, we’re proud to introduce two new additions to the Distil Networks Board: Ryan McIntyre and David Cohen. Ryan is a managing partner at Foundry Group and has more than two decades of experience in the tech industry as a software engineer, entrepreneur, angel investor and venture capitalist. He has firsthand experience working with companies from the ground up and is passionate about helping entrepreneurs “build great companies that can move markets.” David Cohen is the founder, CEO and managing partner of Techstars, the #1 startup accelerator in the world. In his more than two decades in the tech industry, David has founded several successful technology companies and enjoys working with and advising early stage startups. The experience and expertise of both Ryan and David will be invaluable to Distil and we are thrilled to have them on board.
2014 is shaping up to be our best year yet. We’re quickly closing in on blocking our 10-Billionth bad bot and will no doubt have other exciting updates to share in the near future. As always, our focus remains on our customer, as we continue to make the web more secure.
