Company named to OTA 2014 Email Integrity Honor Roll for Best Practices in Enhancing Trust and Fighting Malicious and Deceptive Email

ARLINGTON, Va – August 6, 2014 - Distil Networks, the worldwide leader in bot detection and mitigation, has qualified for the Online Trust Alliance 2014 Email Integrity Honor Roll for providing the best email security practices, focusing on methods necessary to help detect and block spoofed and forged email.

“When organizations implement specific protocols, the results are increased consumer protection from malicious and fraudulent email and strengthened brand reputation,” said OTA Executive Director and President Craig Spiezle. “Despite the obvious benefits, the majority of organizations have yet to adopt practices comprehensively, putting consumers and their brands at risk.”

The OTA is a nonprofit organization with the mission to enhance online trust and empower users, while promoting innovation and the vitality of the Internet. The Email Integrity Audit tracked and evaluated over 800 company’s adoption of Sender Policy Framework (SPF), DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM), and Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance (DMARC). Of the 800+ companies and brands that were evaluated, approximately only 12% passed.

“At Distil Networks, security begins at home. Before we can protect our customers from the multitude of threats that exist online, including email, we have to first make sure that we practice the best security measures ourselves,” said Rami Essaid, CEO and Co-founder of Distil Networks. “In doing so, we are able to continue to deliver a superior level of protection, providing companies with the ability to prevent malicious bots from attacking their emails, and help keep their brands, reputations, and customers safe.”

Distil Networks offers the first ever cloud-based bot detection and mitigation solution, incorporating the world’s largest bot-tracking database with technology to identify, track and mitigate bots in real time. To date, the company has blocked more than 12-billion bad bots. Distil uniquely tracks each bot via a fingerprinting algorithm with over 40 variables, resulting in bot detection with 99.99% reliability. By combining fingerprinting of website visitor connections and machine learning algorithms used to detect online behavioral anomalies, Distil helps businesses stop bots before they inflict real business damage.
